Appleton's

An area of my commercial work I'm really excited about of late is photographing traditional makers and crafts.  Documenting artisans in their day to day life and work.  People who have a passion for creating amazing products, processes steeped in history.  Seeing these people at work just fills me with admiration and inspiration, there's a truth and honesty in everything they do.  This was one of those shoots.  A couple of weeks ago, I was commissioned by Appleton's of Ripon to take images for their new website.  They wanted me to document shop life, the staff, the customers, and those amazing products.  It was if I had stepped into the hub of Ripon.  The shop was filled with a constant stream of people.  Everyone was catching up on the week's news whilst buying the amazing produce - pies, hampers, cured meats & sausages to name a few.

I could wax lyrical about the place, but I'll let the pictures do the talking.  And if you ever get a chance to sample one of their pork pies, I'd highly recommend it!  Their new website has just been launched, you can check it out here.
